About Sam
While I've lived in Metro Atlanta my entire life, Tucker is the place I've chosen to call home the longest. My wife and I chose to settle here eight years ago to be close to family and to be part of a community that was clearly on the rise.
In that time, we've built a life here. We've made wonderful circles of friends, celebrated at Tucker Day, and are now raising our daughter in this community. We can’t imagine anywhere else we would rather be. From bike rides to Corner Cup and Perc on a Saturday morning, a celebration breakfast from Donut City, and cheering on the Dawgs with chips and dip from Eduardo's, our life is woven into the fabric of this city.
My interest in our community isn't new. I've been an active volunteer with park cleanup days and completed the first ever University of Government Affairs, which gave me a firsthand look at both the beauty of our park network and the dedicated effort it takes to maintain it and keep our city functioning.
My desire to run is driven by one simple thing: I want to help foster an ever-improving city for my child to grow up in, making beneficial decisions that will last for years to come.
With over 10 years of experience in corporate finance, I've spent my career managing budgets, reconciling large accounts, and facilitating compromise between people with competing interests. My work has involved managing teams to migrate complex financial systems—a process that requires simplifying processes while keeping the integrity of the records whole.
I will bring that same meticulous, collaborative, and forward-thinking approach to Tucker's city finances, ensuring every dollar of taxpayer money is planned, accounted for, and provides a strong return on investment for our community.
